Senior Product Manager, Product Design, User Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee a long-term product strategy for the user experience of Sophia Learning’s online learning platform.

• Create and lead a continuous discovery and user research program.

• Integrate research findings, behavioral data, and market indicators into problem statements, personas, and prioritized opportunities.

• Direct the AI product vision and roadmap across various product domains at Sophia.

• Spearhead initiatives that incorporate machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI into key applications.

• Provide guidance to executive leadership by converting research insights and technical possibilities into business value.

• Establish design best practices and implement design review processes.

• Manage the complete learner, partner, and administrative experiences.

• Develop flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs, collaborating with Engineering to implement these designs into production.

• Supervise a scalable, governed design system, including design standards, documentation, and accessibility models.

• Execute UX success metrics and a testing framework in partnership with Engineering, Data/Analytics, and AI teams.

• Mentor and guide Product Managers.

• Position Sophia Learning as a thought leader in the AI field for online education, ethical AI practices, and data-informed learning experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design and/or product management within SaaS, data platforms, or AI-focused product settings.

• Practical design experience with user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI.

• Accountability for product outcomes in complex, cross-functional product domains.

• Proven track record of leading research and translating customer insights into product strategy.

• Capability to define requirements, prioritize a backlog, oversee delivery, and create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.

• Solid understanding of contemporary design and prototyping tools, component-based design systems, accessibility standards, and component lifecycle management.

• Experience in structuring design systems for agentic development and AI coding tools.

• Ability to connect technical proficiency with executive influence.

• Proven success in leading cross-functional AI projects that include design, data engineering, product management, and data science.

• Experience in defining AI governance frameworks and principles of human-centered AI design.

• Outstanding leadership and mentoring abilities.

• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure and modern data and AI tools.

• Demonstrated success in collaborating with executive stakeholders and technical leaders.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

• Must be willing to travel occasionally as business needs dictate.

• Must meet critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, computer access, and scheduling requirements.

• Must be available to work over 40 hours per week when business demands require.
