This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +23 more states.
• Take ownership of product definitions regarding money-movement capabilities, from problem identification to requirements, technical design, launch, and iterative processes.
• Thoroughly evaluate requirements and designs across Payments, Repayments, Card, Orchestration, Payouts, Settlements/Reconciliation, and Risk & Fraud.
• Identify gaps in requirements, edge cases, conflicting assumptions, and unresolved product decisions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop PRDs, functional specifications, workflows, state transitions, API requirements, acceptance criteria, and launch criteria.
• Examine transaction-level payment states, processor responses, retries, returns, failures, reconciliation challenges, and operational exceptions.
• Define platform flows for funding, authorization, debit/credit, processing, settlement, payout, recovery, and exceptions.
• Work alongside Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Data, Operations, and Engineering on product-related decisions.
• Lead initiatives related to Risk, Payouts, and other Money Movement efforts.
• Utilize data and operational indicators to assess payment success/failure, loss, recovery, payout performance, reconciliation discrepancies, costs, and operational volumes.
• Highlight risks and unresolved decisions, provide recommendations, and facilitate issue resolution.
• Oversee backlog refinement, requirements evaluations, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, launch readiness, and post-launch improvements.
• Adapt to various Platform workstreams as priorities shift.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Product, Platform.
• A minimum of 8 years in product management.
• Significant hands-on experience in payments, money movement, financial infrastructure, fintech, or risk management.
• Proven history of direct ownership and delivery of payment or money-movement products and processes.
• Extensive expertise in at least one area of payments or money movement.
• Familiarity with payment rails, processors, banks, or PSPs, such as ACH, RTP, card networks/processors, or banking payment infrastructure.
• Capability to transform ambiguous challenges into engineering-ready product specifications and collaborate closely with engineers throughout implementation.
• Strong technical knowledge of transaction lifecycles, state machines, APIs, events/webhooks, retries, idempotency, processor integrations, reconciliation, settlement, and failure management.
• Experience leveraging payment, risk, financial, or operational metrics for product decision-making.
• Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy and navigate incomplete information.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills across Engineering, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Finance, Data, and Operations.
• Candidates must possess the legal right to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
• Availability for remote work in Central or Pacific time zones.
