This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the roadmap, prioritization, and sequencing for Apptegy’s School App and Staff App.
• Identify areas where the products should evolve collectively and where they need separate strategies.
• Transform configuration, entitlement, and role-based behaviors into actionable specifications for engineers, designers, QA partners, and AI tools.
• Develop an understanding of school districts, educators, students, families, and staff, translating insights into mobile experiences.
• Direct product discovery through customer research, product analytics, feedback, market context, and business impact.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Design from concept to launch while balancing customer value, quality, feasibility, and delivery speed.
• Manage mobile release considerations, including app store reviews, release hardening, staged rollouts, and version fragmentation.
• Incorporate mobile constraints into cross-functional planning and establish realistic timelines.
• Enhance AI-assisted delivery practices through executable specifications and CI-generated, verified acceptance criteria.
• Establish success metrics and track activation, engagement, retention, adoption, satisfaction, and app store ratings.
• Create customer feedback and learning loops for ongoing improvement of the mobile experience.
• Lead product direction for Apptegy’s School App and Staff App, which are essential platforms connecting families and school staff with districts.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Client Experience.
• Extensive experience leading product development for native iOS and Android applications through several release cycles; more than just responsive web experience required.
• Proven experience owning product initiatives for multiple teams with distinct roadmaps and a shared platform.
• Experience driving product management through significant technical transformations, such as re-platforming, architectural migrations, or modernization efforts.
• Capability to write clear product specifications that are executable and verifiable by engineers, QA partners, or AI agents.
• Hands-on experience utilizing AI in the delivery pipeline, including generating acceptance criteria, deriving behavior from existing codebases, or automating review processes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and mobile release mechanics, covering build pipelines, feature flags, automated testing, phased rollouts, and version management.
• Analytical self-sufficiency, with skills in writing queries and interpreting product analytics.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical, creative, commercial, and executive audiences.
• Good judgment regarding responsible AI usage, including considerations of privacy, security, accuracy, transparency, and human oversight.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering and Design in an agile product development environment.
• Commitment to crafting intuitive, accessible, and reliable experiences for diverse school communities.
• Experience in developing products for K-12 education, public-sector organizations, communication platforms, SaaS, or other mission-driven contexts is a notable qualification.
• Experience managing products used by administrators, educators, students, families, and community members is a notable qualification.
• Product-side experience with cross-platform mobile frameworks is a notable qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of iOS and Android ecosystems, including app release processes, push notifications, authentication, accessibility, and mobile analytics is a notable qualification.
• Experience treating accessibility as an ongoing product and engineering initiative, including implementing automated checks in CI, is a notable qualification.
• A proven track record of enhancing mobile adoption, engagement, retention, or app store ratings is a notable qualification.
• Experience conducting customer research with school districts or other complex, distributed organizations is a notable qualification.
• Experience working with distributed or partner engineering teams is a notable qualification.
• A Bachelor’s degree in product management, business, technology, education, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
