
Senior Product Manager β Marine Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
β’ Take charge of the Marine Insurance product strategy, vision, and roadmap.
β’ Spearhead the development and launch of the inaugural Marine Insurance product release, concentrating on exposure screening throughout the live global fleet.
β’ Conduct market and customer research with underwriters, P&I clubs, brokers, claims, and exposure-management teams.
β’ Define and enhance the product proposition and customer journey.
β’ Establish the methodology for exposure and accumulation that supports the product.
β’ Own the positioning and competitive strategy for the product.
β’ Lead the go-to-market strategy, which includes positioning, packaging, pricing contributions, launch planning, and facilitating early customer adoption.
β’ Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships within the insurance ecosystem.
β’ Serve as the primary liaison between Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing teams.
β’ Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, track delivery progress, and assess key risks, refining the roadmap to maximize product impact.
β’ Create an exposure screening product that allows customers to input insured fleets, attach policy values, and monitor exposure and accumulation against the live global fleet overview.
β’ Collaborate with underwriters, brokers, P&I clubs, claims and exposure-management teams, as well as cross-functional internal teams to address customer challenges and position Kpler as a reliable source of marine insurance intelligence.
β’ 5β7 years of experience in Product Management or senior commercial roles, preferably in maritime data, shipping intelligence, marine insurance, or a closely related B2B data/SaaS sector.
β’ Demonstrated history of overseeing products from inception to completion, including strategy formulation, customer research, delivery, launch, and customer adoption.
β’ Proven ability to translate complex customer requirements into a clear product strategy, roadmap priorities, and product specifications while collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
β’ Strong comprehension of the marine insurance data landscape, including exposure, accumulation, sanctions, and war-risk screening, as well as the broader competitive landscape.
β’ Experience working in ambiguous, early-stage settings, applying a pragmatic and iterative approach to building, launching, learning, and improving products.
β’ Robust commercial and go-to-market experience, encompassing product positioning, packaging, pricing contributions, launch planning, and collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
β’ Strong data and analytical skills, enabling effective collaboration with data and engineering teams, and a solid understanding of maritime and trade data concepts such as AIS, ownership, and trade flows.
β’ Excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
β’ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach.
β’ Direct experience in marine insurance, specifically in hull and machinery, cargo, war risk, or P&I (preferred).
β’ Experience in building and launching a new product line (preferred).
β’ Established connections within the network of underwriters, brokers, and P&I clubs (preferred).
β’ Understanding of the regulatory framework impacting marine insurance, including sanctions regimes and war-risk classifications (preferred).
