Senior Product Manager – Fraud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Develop the strategy and roadmap for fraud prevention encompassing account integrity, money movement, decision-making, controls, and customer protection experiences.

• Design and implement a strategic vision to reduce fraud and enhance the risk experience, including holds, limit structures, step-up verification, and associated friction points.

• Create user journeys that introduce suitable friction based on risk signals while minimizing disruption for legitimate users.

• Develop operational and platform tools for risk and support teams to manage case volume, handle exceptions, and address high-touch cases.

• Collaborate with data science teams to create, deploy, and continuously enhance machine learning models.

• Establish and monitor metrics that measure the effectiveness of risk management, operational impact, and customer experience outcomes.

• Assist in advancing Mercury's risk capabilities to scale across its growing product suite.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of relevant product management experience, specifically within fraud or risk in banking or fintech sectors.

• Profound customer empathy and insight into how risk-related friction affects user experience, growth, and retention.

• Experience with complex automated decision-making systems, rules, machine learning models, and real-time data pipelines.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Ability to comprehend the performance of rules and machine learning models, understand trade-offs between precision and recall, and convert this understanding into actionable insights and priorities.

• Proven track record of cross-functional leadership, especially in balancing trade-offs among risk, compliance, and customer experience priorities.

• Excellent communication skills to transform intricate risk concepts into actionable product strategies.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of making balanced decisions even with incomplete information.
