This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Take ownership of the product vision and roadmap for payroll and integrations.
β’ Establish the direction and unite the company around the product strategy.
β’ Lead payroll initiatives across Canadian and US jurisdictions from the discovery phase through to launch and user adoption.
β’ Manage the integrations portfolio comprehensively, including development, maintenance, refactoring, and decisions regarding sunset.
β’ Define the API and platform direction.
β’ Regularly engage with customers to gain insights into payroll operations, challenges, and key priorities.
β’ Set and monitor metrics for payroll accuracy and the health of integrations.
β’ Collaborate with teams in design, engineering, QA, support, sales, and customer success.
β’ Develop go-to-market strategies alongside customer-facing teams.
β’ Ensure successful product launches that achieve customer adoption.
β’ Familiarize yourself with the payroll product and engage with customers, support, and implementation teams during the first two months.
β’ Publish a roadmap for Canada/US payroll and integrations during months three to four.
β’ Deliver a significant product enhancement and establish an integrations strategy during months five to six.
β’ Over 6 years of experience in product management.
β’ Several years of experience managing a product area comprehensively rather than merely executing a predefined roadmap.
β’ Hands-on payroll experience in either Canada or the United States.
β’ Experience in building, operating, or owning payroll products or payroll operations in at least one of Canada or the United States.
β’ Knowledge of remittance deadlines, year-end processes, and tax compliance.
β’ Experience in B2B SaaS environments with real operational complexity.
β’ Familiarity with implementation, data migration, or third-party systems.
β’ Comfort with direct data analysis.
β’ Product-level proficiency with APIs and integrations.
β’ Ability to engage in design discussions with engineers and make informed trade-offs.
β’ Strong and persuasive writing capabilities.
β’ Proven history of successfully launching products that gained customer adoption.
β’ Payroll experience in both Canada and the United States is a significant advantage.
β’ Experience in another highly regulated field, such as benefits, tax, fintech, or healthcare, is a plus.
β’ Experience in platform, API, or partner ecosystem product roles is a bonus.
β’ Experience with POS or HRIS integration is advantageous.
β’ Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or multi-unit franchise customer settings is beneficial.
