Senior Product Manager – AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of product strategy and execution for financial technology offerings from initial discovery through to specification, delivery, launch, and post-launch evaluation.

• Manage the roadmap for areas including credit and lending, savings and deposits, payments and foreign exchange, as well as new product development.

• Engage in customer discovery processes with individual borrowers, savers, SMEs, business operators, and freelancers.

• Assess market opportunities, create funnels, and validate hypotheses using production data.

• Make and justify prioritization choices across various product lines utilizing quantitative data.

• Monitor competitor activities and incorporate insights into product strategy.

• Craft product and technical specifications that can be directly implemented by engineers and AI coding agents.

• Develop prototypes in Claude Design prior to allocating engineering resources.

• Write and deploy small pull requests using Claude Code when expedient compared to handing off tasks.

• Oversee delivery processes from start to finish, ensuring control over scope, timeline, and quality.

• Manage the delivery rhythm in Linear, including standups, sprint reviews, unblocking issues, bug triage, and trade-off discussions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders in Leadership, Engineering, Data, Credit, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing.

• Take responsibility for revenue, growth, and risk outcomes; monitor metrics post-launch and iterate as necessary.

• Evaluate AI-generated implementations, prototypes, and analyses for accuracy, edge cases, and alignment with business needs.

• Establish feedback loops from customer insights through specification, AI-assisted development, metrics analysis, and subsequent specifications.

• Handle launch communications and facilitate internal enablement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management.

• Proven experience in launching consumer or SME products within fintech, banking, lending, or payment sectors.

• Demonstrated history of owning outcomes gauged by metrics such as revenue, active users, default rates, or deposit growth.

• Strong capability in coordinating with stakeholders across Leadership, Engineering, Data, Credit, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing.

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, unambiguous, and testable specifications.

• Comfortable independently interpreting production data.

• Proficiency in SQL or a commitment to achieving it within the first week.

• Proven ability to utilize AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex, and similar applications in everyday tasks.

• Experience in delivering tangible results using AI tools.

• Adept at reading and writing code, and capable of submitting small pull requests with Claude Code.

• High degree of independence and the ability to transition from problem identification to validated solutions and shipped products autonomously.

• Ability to interpret financial regulatory guidance and translate it into product specifications.

• Highly preferred: experience with credit products, including origination, scoring, and collections.

• Highly preferred: experience with deposit products, covering rate strategies, treasury, and funding.

• Highly preferred: familiarity with foreign exchange, cross-border payments, stablecoins, or virtual account infrastructures.

• Highly preferred: experience working with engineering teams that utilize AI coding agents in production workflows.

• Highly preferred: previous involvement in emerging markets, especially in Africa, Southeast Asia, or Latin American fintech.

• Bonus: experience as a founder or in 0-to-1 product development.

• Bonus: knowledge of trade finance instruments, such as invoice factoring, LPO financing, and purchase order financing.

• Salary expectations should be stated in Kenyan Shillings.

• Valid work authorization for Kenya is required.

• A brief description of a project built end-to-end using AI, detailing the project, AI applications, and the final outcome.
