Senior Principal RF/Microwave Amplifier MMIC Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of RF/microwave designs for communications, test and measurement instrumentation, as well as for industrial, aerospace, and defense applications.

• Create top-tier RF/microwave/millimeter-wave GaAs and GaN LNA, driver amplifier, and power amplifier MMICs.

• Execute MMIC design and layout tasks.

• Carry out electromagnetic simulations and thermal analyses.

• Utilize industry-standard EDA tools for amplifier MMIC design.

• Design microwave and millimeter-wave circuits and systems.

• Employ RF/microwave test equipment and measurement methodologies.

• Work collaboratively with RF and microwave specialists and engineering teams.

• Play a role in the development of innovative semiconductor solutions for Analog Devices’ applications.


⛳️ Requirements

• Background in GaAs and/or GaN semiconductor technologies.

• Proficiency in MMIC design and layout.

• Experience with electromagnetic simulation techniques.

• Knowledge of thermal analysis processes.

• Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools including ADS, Momentum, RFPro, and Sonnet.

• A Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF/microwave engineering.

• At least 10 years of experience; relevant experience from a PhD thesis may be considered.

• Must possess US citizenship or hold a green card.

• Expertise in Cadence, ADS, AWR, Ansys HFSS, Sonnet, Momentum, RFPro, and similar EDA tools.

• Understanding of GaAs and/or GaN device physics and modeling.

• Experience in microwave/millimeter-wave circuit and system design.

• Proficiency with RF/microwave test equipment and measurement techniques, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.

• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
