This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Act as a vital technical contributor for programs and products supported by the department.
β’ Create RF systems designed for challenging thermal conditions and high-vibration environments.
β’ Lead projects in the capacity of Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
β’ Collaborate with programs to ensure success in technical, cost, and scheduling aspects.
β’ Manage the job assignments and performance of junior engineers.
β’ Utilize knowledge in electronics packaging design and manufacturing.
β’ Conduct or assist with thermal and structural design and analysis.
β’ Engage with the design, construction, and failure modes of electrical components.
β’ Implement printed wiring board and circuit card assembly processes and best practices.
β’ Work with installation processes and failure modes for surface-mount and through-hole components.
β’ Apply techniques in metal fabrication and finishing.
β’ Design mechanical RF isolation systems.
β’ Employ environmental testing methods and equipment.
β’ Offer technical guidance and mentor cross-functional teams.
β’ Deliver technical presentations and cultivate customer relationships.
β’ Foster positive relationships with functional and program leadership.
β’ A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.
β’ Proven experience in mechanical design, development, and/or implementation of defense-related electronic systems.
β’ Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
β’ Knowledge of ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures.
β’ At least three years of experience in creating and documenting mechanical designs using Pro/Engineer/CREO or similar modeling tools.
β’ U.S. citizenship is required.
β’ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
β’ An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.
