This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Oversee a portfolio of debt mandates from initial offer indication (IOI) to final closure as the chief negotiator and senior execution lead.
• Facilitate lender due diligence, structuring, negotiations, documentation, and closing procedures.
• Manage transaction velocity and closing rates throughout the deal portfolio.
• Contribute to the revenue and profit and loss (P&L) objectives of the Debt team.
• Draft credit memos and pricing proposals.
• Present proposed transactions to the Credit Committee.
• Lead deal teams, allocate transaction staffing, and review underwriting, due diligence, and financial models.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members regarding credit and execution processes.
• Execute debt transactions with lenders and institutional capital providers.
• Collaborate with Industry Coverage to assess opportunities and offer market and financeability insights.
• Work with Investments on tax-equity and preferred-equity attached transactions.
• Manage initiatives for new lender programs, financing frameworks, and documentation standards.
• Develop and standardize repeatable execution methodologies.
• Promote the use of AI-driven modeling and automation.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams on transaction tools.
• Represent Crux in webinars, whitepapers, conferences, and industry discussions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10–12+ years of cumulative experience.
• 7+ years in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure debt, or structured lending.
• Proven history of leading construction, term, back-leverage, or debt capital markets transactions as the primary negotiator.
• Extensive knowledge of project finance debt structures for solar, wind, and storage projects.
• Experience in negotiating credit agreements and intercreditor arrangements hands-on.
• Familiarity with the relationship between tax equity and debt financing.
• Background in preparing and presenting transactions to credit or investment committees.
• Ideal experience from both lender and sponsor/advisory perspectives.
• Proficiency in leading and mentoring deal teams.
• Capability in reviewing underwriting and financial modeling work.
• Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills with developers, lenders, and investors.
• Strong judgment and ability to work independently.
• Keen interest in technology and AI applications in debt execution.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63 licenses required or willingness to obtain under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
