This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Review, negotiate, and manage externally funded research grants and contracts.
• Act as the primary point of contact with external sponsors for sponsored grant agreements, including initial awards and modifications.
• Establish new awards and handle modifications to existing awards within Georgetown’s financial system.
• Provide support to principal investigators in Cluster 4 across departments on Main Campus and the Medical Center.
• Oversee contracting and grant database activities throughout the sponsored award lifecycle, including award setup, management, and closeout assistance.
• Offer leadership, training, and supervision to the Pre-Award Grant Administrator within the cluster.
• Collaborate closely with the Associate Director, Pre-Award Grant Administrator, cluster staff, JORA roles, and partnering offices.
• Ensure that awards are comprehensive, precise, and in compliance with sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Independently manage deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or non-profit grants management role.
• Familiarity with sponsored research funding mechanisms, including federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DOD, etc.), non-federal government agencies, international entities, industry, foundations, and private and non-profit organizations.
• Expertise in federal funding guidelines, including 2 CFR 200 and FAR.
• Proficient in financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards relevant to grants and contracts management.
• Experience with budgeting in Excel.
• Proven ability in reviewing and negotiating incoming agreements for sponsored research awards.
• Experience with outgoing subawards and associated compliance requirements.
• Proficient in Excel, Adobe Professional, and DocuSign.
• Adaptability and flexibility in response to ongoing changes in internal and external policies.
• Capacity to set clear priorities and multitask in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong organizational abilities.
