This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Execute on-site transformer services, including the installation of new units, corrective maintenance, and upgrades.
• Support team leaders by managing on-site resources, including assigned crew members and subcontracted services.
• Attend daily morning briefings with crews and/or customer representatives to discuss daily tasks.
• Identify and communicate any EHS/HSE issues related to the scope of work.
• Assist in the operation and management of vacuum processing rigs and related equipment.
• Aid in or supervise field testing or commissioning of relevant units.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance services.
• Offer technical support in the preparation and submission of technical documentation.
• Collaborate on creating inspection criteria with both external and internal clients for transformer services.
• Work together with clients and GE engineering to ensure the erection, commissioning, and maintenance of power transformer systems.
• Travel regionally and nationally across North America to client project locations.
• Provide emergency call-out support for customers' year-round 24/7 production needs.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical knowledge related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment, such as high voltage breakers and switchgear.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Capability to comprehend electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• An Associate’s degree in the Electrical or Mechanical field with a focus on Power Transformers or HV/MV apparatus, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Mechanical experience through technical training institutions and/or military service, along with proven field experience, is encouraged.
• Leadership experience is desirable.
• Strong communication skills are preferred.
• Proficiency in IT/computer applications and experience with various software programs is desired.
• A CDL license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
