This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and implement software modules for power and thermal control in SoCs.
• Develop software architecture for power and thermal management on cutting-edge platforms.
• Lead the analysis and resolution of intricate Power/Thermal issues involving multiple teams.
• Create software corrective action plans based on findings from SoC/Platform and ensure their execution in future product iterations.
• Oversee the complete software lifecycle related to power consumption and thermal control for a Client SoC product line.
• Propel platform power and thermal objectives throughout the entire software stack.
• Collaborate with SoC partner firmware, kernel/driver teams, and software teams facing OEMs.
• Monitor Power/Thermal software status, risks, and mitigation strategies at the program level.
• Engage proactively with engineering leadership.
• Act as the primary technical software liaison with SoC partners regarding Power/Thermal matters.
• Work with ecosystem partners to develop next-generation Power/Thermal software features.
• Team up with OEM engineering units to address power and thermal challenges at the platform level.
• Represent the Power/Thermal software team in leadership reviews, program synchronizations, and executive communications.
• Advance projects from architectural design through to product realization.
• Over 12 years of experience in the software industry.
• A minimum of 5 years concentrating on power management software for SoCs or platforms.
• Profound knowledge in SoC/GPU/CPU power management, including C-states, low-power states, DVFS, power gating, clock gating, and platform power limitations.
• Proven history of owning and achieving Power/Thermal software objectives on a tangible product from pre-silicon architecture to post-launch optimization.
• Excellent multi-functional leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in the C programming language.
• Experience with operating system internals, device drivers, real-time embedded operating systems, and low-level hardware/software interfaces.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive background in SoC Power and Thermal management software.
• Familiarity with platform power management on Linux and Windows.
• Previous experience collaborating with other companies on power architecture and defining firmware/software power interfaces.
• Knowledge of platform telemetry systems for Power/Thermal monitoring and analysis of self-hosted/battery life data.
• Strong comprehension of ROP (Rest-of-Platform) power optimization.
