Senior Platform Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain custom GitHub Actions for the building and deployment of applications

• Create scripts and automation modules for deploying applications to designated platforms

• Design and establish backup and restoration frameworks for applications, containers, and platform resources

• Build Kubernetes solutions and controllers that autonomously detect and resolve issues within containerized clusters

• Manage Terraform Infrastructure as Code effectively

• Construct infrastructure solutions that facilitate monitoring, reporting, and observability

• Design and execute GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application deployments

• Oversee and manage AWS EKS environments while integrating EKS with on-premises infrastructure

• Create and supervise AWS resources utilizing the AWS Console and automation tools

• Diagnose issues across Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, containers, and deployment environments

• Implement strategies for container orchestration and deployment

• Provide support for multi-cluster Kubernetes environments

• Implement monitoring, observability, and centralized logging across hybrid environments

• Optimize cloud expenditures for hybrid cloud workloads

• Apply best practices for cloud account and platform security

• Support compliance, security, and operational needs for hybrid cloud deployments

• Contribute to disaster recovery strategies and enhance platform resiliency

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams

• Engage in technical discussions, design reviews, and knowledge-transfer sessions

• Mentor junior engineers and developers

• Lead technical projects of medium to large scale as needed

• Test solutions, identify issues, learn new technologies, and iterate rapidly

• Identify challenges and create practical, scalable solutions

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or related fields

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and AWS resource management

• Strong proficiency with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes

• Experience in integrating AWS EKS with on-premises infrastructure

• Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Proven expertise in implementing GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application deployments

• Practical experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation

• Strong scripting skills using Bash and/or PowerShell

• Robust troubleshooting and debugging experience in Linux environments

• Familiarity with container platforms and orchestration

• Experience in developing or implementing automated deployment solutions

• Understanding of cloud security and securing AWS accounts and infrastructure

• AWS Certified Developer certification

• AWS Certified Technician certification

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively across development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams
