This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.
• Design, develop, and sustain robust data processes and solutions.
• Oversee the efficient movement and transformation of data across various systems.
• Create and uphold data models, databases, and data warehouses for business intelligence and analytics purposes.
• Work in collaboration with IT, product, analytics, business teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Provide mentorship to associate, intermediate, and senior data engineers as required.
• Partner with Data Leaders to ensure uniformity across systems and platforms.
• Monitor production schedules, offer progress updates, and report any issues or technical challenges.
• Implement and manage data governance practices, focusing on data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
• Stay updated on data engineering trends and suggest tools and best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual/access stipulations.
• 7 years of experience in designing and analyzing algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for scalable, highly available systems.
• 7 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data management.
• 7 years of experience with SQL and database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• 7 years of experience with data warehouse solutions and concepts like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, DataFlow, Cloud Composer/Managed Airflow, DataProc, Cloud Run, and DataPlex.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data models, databases, data warehouses, data governance, and data quality.
• Preferred experience with dbt, Starburst/Trino, Monte Carlo, Soda, Atlan, Collibra, Apache Iceberg, and Delta Lake.
• Preferred 5+ years with GCP data services, on-premise databases such as Oracle, Teradata, and DB2, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Ability to mentor junior data engineers.
• Compliance with HIPAA, data security guidelines, company policies, and relevant laws.
• No additional language required beyond English.
• Remote work arrangement.
