This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee and provide support for services across the entire NBA platform, ensuring comprehension of component integration.
• Monitor the health of the platform while investigating and resolving production issues, bottlenecks, failures, and scaling limitations.
• Design and implement targeted features, enhancements, and technical improvements throughout platform components.
• Enhance logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting to boost production visibility.
• Profile and optimize components under load to elevate performance and scalability.
• Write tests, engage in code reviews, and maintain engineering standards.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and spearhead root-cause analysis efforts.
• Transform incidents into sustainable fixes and proactive enhancements.
• Collaborate with delivery pods and Decision Intelligence to grasp new components and take on long-term ownership.
• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience in developing and managing production systems.
• Proficient in reading, debugging, and extending code in at least one of the following: Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, encompassing APIs, event-driven patterns, asynchronous processing, and failure management.
• Practical experience with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Experience in operating services on cloud infrastructures like Azure, with knowledge of containers/Kubernetes and CI/CD practices.
• A maintenance-and-reliability mindset focused on operational health and well-documented code.
• Capability to clarify systems or incidents to both engineers and non-engineers.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Kafka producer/consumer patterns and stream processing.
• Preferred: Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Drools or equivalent rules engines.
• Preferred: Proficiency in React/Node/Postgres application stacks.
• Preferred: Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or Spark-based data pipelines.
• Preferred: Background in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries, particularly involving PHI handling requirements.
• Remote employees must have internet service with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
• Ability to work from a designated space without continuous interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
