Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain a runtime production environment

• Act as a liaison between application teams and platform teams

• Promote best practices and enhance communication among application development and platform teams

• Assess solutions and implementations in relation to tasks and business requirements

• Proactively identify and address business challenges

• Create small components to tackle specific issues

• Grasp how medium-level tasks align with broader goals

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate components into a unified platform

• Provide estimates for time and effort on medium-sized tasks

• Assist in project planning and resource management

• Utilize programming languages and shell scripting effectively for efficient task execution

• Take ownership of the connection between application development teams and the production environment

• Adjust to new responsibilities as organizational needs change

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory

• Demonstrated experience as a Platform Engineer or in a comparable role, focusing on system architecture and development

• Proficient in Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and Docker

• Knowledge of continuous delivery, distributed architectures, systems, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services

• Skilled in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Ansible

• Basic knowledge of shell scripting

• Proficient with YAML

• Experience collaborating on a team that follows an Agile framework in a remote setting

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work autonomously

• Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills

• Familiarity with security automation and knowledge of API Security, Container Security, and Cloud Security

• Understanding of architectural security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in a complex enterprise setting

• Comfortable troubleshooting systems and reading/writing code

• Must hold a Top Secret/SCI security clearance or be eligible to apply for one

• DoD 8570 IAT II certification required

• Experience with Department of Defense work, particularly with a production Authority to Operate (ATO'd) system

• Knowledge of DevSecOps/DevOps principles and CI/CD practices

• Expected travel: 10%-25%
