Senior Performance Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Solution Designers, and Quality Assurance teams to collect non-functional requirements.

• Serve as an extended member of the scrum team across multiple teams.

• Perform system performance testing to verify the reliability, capacity, and scalability of applications.

• Work alongside Product Owners, Business Users, and Scrum teams to define performance requirements and devise performance testing strategies.

• Create and implement load, stress, spike, endurance/stability, and scalability performance test scripts.

• Monitor application performance on both the client-side and server-side using various in-house and commercial tools.

• Evaluate performance test outcomes, engage in root cause analysis, and suggest enhancements.

• Deliver comprehensive test reports.

• Partner with the Application Health and Performance team to oversee system performance after deployment and refine pre-production testing.

• Recommend tools and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency.

• Provide training and support to Associate and Mid-Level Performance Test Engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory.

• Five to seven years of professional experience in performance testing, including scripting and custom scripting, and/or software development is essential.

• Proven ability to thrive in an Agile/Scrum model environment.

• Strong grasp of performance testing requirements and translating them into actionable performance testing scripts.

• Proficient knowledge of automation/performance script development utilizing NeoLoad or other relevant performance testing tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of parameterization, checkpoints, reusable functions, correlations, iterations, pacing, and think time.

• Highly skilled in Performance Workload Modeling and Capacity Planning.

• Ability to assess client-side statistics such as response times, throughput, and hits per second.

• Solid knowledge of web servers, application servers, and database servers.

• Experience in monitoring server performance metrics using AppDynamics and other application monitoring tools.

• Strong analytical and documentation abilities.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

• Familiarity with advanced SQL.

• Practical experience with C#, Java, and .NET frameworks.

• Knowledge of heap and thread dump analysis, CPU, and memory profiling data.

• Basic development capabilities for custom coding implementation in NeoLoad.

• Working knowledge of MS-Excel, including macros and charts/graphs.

• Experience with Visual Studio/TFS for project management and defect tracking.

• Familiarity with Fiddler, JProfiler, Jconsole, or VisualVM.
