This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Provides support for employee relations and works council activities throughout Germany.
• Collaborates closely with People Business Partners, managers, the Legal team, and the works council.
• Offers guidance on German co-determination regulations while fostering a trustful relationship with the works council.
• Directs and manages works council consultation and co-determination procedures in accordance with the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG).
• Develops and refines processes related to Employee Relations, labor relations, and works council issues.
• Assists in organizational changes, restructurings, and workforce initiatives that require works council involvement.
• Ensures that HR processes, records, documentation, and supporting evidence remain legally compliant.
• Works in partnership with global stakeholders to uphold compliance with German labor relations laws.
• Implements and manages agreements with the works council.
• Prepares and files documentation concerning hires, promotions, transfers, organizational changes, personnel actions, and departures.
• Collaborates with both internal and external legal counsel on employment law matters.
• Provides advice to managers and People Business Partners on employment law topics and develops training materials and communications.
• Minimum of four years of experience in managing works council matters and co-determination processes in Germany.
• At least four years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, labor relations, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with works council procedures related to hiring, organizational changes, and the complete employee lifecycle.
• Proficiency in both German and English at a business-fluent level.
• In-depth knowledge of German employment law and the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG).
• Strong skills in stakeholder management and relationship development.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
• Sound judgment and robust problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational capabilities and project management skills.
• Competence in balancing legal obligations with business goals.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a process-driven approach.
• This role requires a background check.
