This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +6 more countries.
• Take full ownership of employment contracts, payroll management, visa processes, and employee policy implementation from start to finish.
• Ensure the maintenance of precise, audit-ready SOC 2 compliance processes.
• Centralize the management of approvals for freelancer and contractor engagements.
• Engage in hands-on People Operations tasks when they have a significant impact.
• Develop an in-house capability for people analytics.
• Convert People data into actionable insights for leadership decisions, focusing on attrition and organizational health trends.
• Communicate the health of the People function to the VP of People and the broader leadership team.
• Oversee and refine People systems such as HiBob and Mahana.
• Streamline repetitive People Operations tasks using n8n and collaborate with workflow automation engineers on complex projects.
• Create documentation and establish consistent processes prior to automation.
• Minimize manual workload as the function scales.
• Serve as the onboarding contact for new hires.
• Build a small team by recruiting 2–3 specialists in analytics, automation, and systems over the next 12–24 months.
• Collaborate with the VP of People, Talent Acquisition, People Partners, and Finance/Legal departments.
• Report directly to the VP of People.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling or enhancing an existing People Operations function within a similar growth range, such as 500 to 1,000 employees.
• Experience managing contracts, payroll, visas, employee policies, and SOC 2-related compliance.
• Ability to set strategy and prioritize while also executing tasks hands-on.
• Familiarity with people analytics and data; willingness to develop the capability in-house.
• Practical experience with HRIS platforms like HiBob.
• Proven track record in driving process automation within a People function.
• Must be based in Europe.
• Previous experience in running or building this type of function at least once.
• Understanding that automation relies on documented, consistent processes and accurate data.
• Proficiency in English, as it is the company language.
• For candidates outside of Germany, the existing right to work is mandatory.
