This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Take senior-level responsibility for intricate, high-risk, or multi-national payrolls throughout the EMEA region.
• Serve as the recognized authority on payroll calculations, statutory interpretations, and changes in regulations.
• Accurately process complex payrolls across multiple countries in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state/provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Oversee off-cycle payments, adjustments, and final payroll calculations.
• Prepare and file necessary reports and documentation.
• Verify and correct payroll data before processing.
• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies through escalation.
• Suggest improvements to processes and identify opportunities for automation.
• Interpret payroll policies across different jurisdictions.
• Maintain and conduct audits on employee payroll records, including tax withholdings, benefits, and direct deposits.
• Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy of data and address discrepancies.
• Collaborate on payroll system upgrades, integrations, and configurations.
• Assist in the implementation of standardized payroll workflows across the region.
• Support the documentation and execution of standardized payroll procedures.
• Contribute insights on harmonization milestones and enhancements to systems.
• Report to the Payroll Manager-EMEA and collaborate within the Corporate structure.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or a minimum of 7 years of relevant payroll experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in processing complex payrolls in a multi-country setting.
• In-depth, expert-level knowledge of end-to-end payroll operations and statutory obligations.
• Significant experience in managing complex payroll environments across multiple countries.
• Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to address payroll issues and execute effective solutions.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
• Proficiency in additional European languages is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation processes.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with employees and cross-functional teams.
