This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee all facets of payroll operations for the U.S. and Canada, encompassing processing, reporting, and compliance.
• Lead and mentor Payroll Managers and Analysts through performance management, coaching, succession planning, and professional growth.
• Develop and uphold payroll policies, procedures, internal controls, SOX compliance measures, and governance practices.
• Function as the primary owner and subject matter expert for payroll processes, compliance, and systems.
• Manage configurations, enhancements, upgrades, testing, and implementations for Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Compensation.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. and Canadian payroll tax regulations and employment-related obligations.
• Supervise payroll tax filings, reconciliations, account management, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Stock Administration, Finance, and Accounting on equity compensation payroll and tax matters.
• Lead payroll's involvement in SOX, 401(k), workers’ compensation, financial, and other compliance audits.
• Oversee reconciliations and facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Track service metrics, pinpoint risks, and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
• Manage relationships and performance with payroll vendors.
• Propel initiatives focused on automation, standardization, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Serve as the escalation point for intricate payroll issues.
• Assist with acquisitions, organizational modifications, system implementations, and strategic initiatives affecting payroll.
• Maintain payroll documentation, governance, and control frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a relevant field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Over 10 years of progressive payroll experience, with a focus on complex, multi-state payroll operations.
• A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, including the management of managers and payroll professionals.
• Proven experience in managing multi-state and Canadian payroll operations.
• Background in overseeing payroll compliance and internal controls.
• Experience handling payroll operations for diverse employee groups, classifications, pay structures, and employment types.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax obligations, wage and hour compliance, and payroll controls.
• Experience collaborating with Accounting, Finance, Tax, HR, and external vendors.
• Track record of successfully leading process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
