This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the complete payroll processing for various clients, ensuring precision and adherence to established deadlines.
• Initiate new client payrolls, including the setup of employee records, pay structures, pensions, tax configurations, and payroll schedules.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, salary modifications, overtime, commissions, statutory payments, deductions, expenses, and other payroll adjustments.
• Execute RTI submissions, handle HMRC notifications, reconcile payroll obligations, and carry out year-end tasks such as P60s and related reporting.
• Manage workplace pensions and auto-enrolment initiatives, encompassing enrolment evaluations, submissions, reconciliations, and compliance obligations.
• Serve as the main payroll contact for a portfolio of SME clients, delivering expert advice and assistance on payroll-related issues.
• Assist with payroll implementations, transitions, migrations, audits, health assessments, and enhancements to payroll processes.
• Recognize opportunities for improving payroll services and contribute to broader HR and business service initiatives.
• Uphold high standards of payroll compliance, data security, audit trails, and quality assurance practices.
• Collaborate effectively with internal HR, Finance, Recruitment, and IT teams to meet client demands and ensure service excellence.
• Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, pensions, tax regulations, and best practices while fostering long-term client relationships.
• Contribute to business growth and uphold exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Extensive experience in UK payroll processing, preferably within an outsourced payroll bureau, payroll provider, accountancy practice, or managed services setting.
• Demonstrated capability in managing payrolls from inception to conclusion for multiple clients under tight deadlines.
• Strong technical expertise in PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, statutory payments, workplace pensions, auto-enrolment, and payroll laws.
• Experience in establishing and implementing new payroll systems, including pension scheme management and payroll migrations.
• Excellent payroll reconciliation, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication skills with clients, capable of articulating complex payroll topics in a clear and professional manner.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and confidence in facilitating client discussions, proposals, and service enhancement opportunities.
• CIPP qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in conducting payroll audits, health checks, implementations, or system migrations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Sage 50 is a plus.
• May need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS/DS) check, depending on the role.
