This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage payroll for employees in the US and Canada.
• Accurately process multi-state payroll for the US and Canada, which includes bi-weekly payrolls, off-cycle payments, and manual checks.
• Act as the in-house authority for UKG Pro payroll and Workforce Management Dimensions, focusing on configuration, troubleshooting, and collaboration with UKG support.
• Assess and streamline the existing UKG configuration, replacing manual procedures with sustainable and controlled processes.
• Develop and maintain payroll procedures and process documentation.
• Serve as the main point of contact for international payroll providers in the UK, Australia, Germany, and India.
• Evaluate international payroll inputs and outputs, reconcile the results, and ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
• Reconcile payroll with the general ledger in conjunction with Accounting and assist with audit and compliance inquiries.
• Uphold payroll controls, including managing approvals, access, and the separation of duties.
• Document and process employee changes, such as leaves of absence, salary adjustments, and reporting modifications.
• Ensure proper data flow of new hire and termination information from HRIS to payroll.
• Oversee state tax registrations and ongoing tax filings, while maintaining accurate employee tax profiles.
• Collaborate with Benefits and HR Business Partners on deductions, open enrollment, and payroll-related processes.
• Partner with the HRIS Manager to enhance UKG functionality.
• Manage sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
• Assist in training and providing backup for team members.
• Carry out additional duties and special projects as required.
• 5 to 7+ years of direct payroll experience, including a minimum of 3 years working with UKG Pro (UltiPro).
• Proven experience in processing multi-state payroll for the US and Canadian payroll.
• Background in supporting or coordinating international payrolls with external providers.
• Experience in a fast-growing organization with over 700 employees across various countries.
• Ability to independently manage payroll processes, including addressing issues that arise mid-cycle.
• Experience in documenting procedures and enhancing or refining existing payroll configurations.
• Strong comprehension of payroll tax, compliance matters, and internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential is preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, and skilled in Microsoft Office and G-Suite applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to meet tight, recurring deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and supportive demeanor.
• High level of integrity and a proven history of maintaining confidentiality.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership and commitment to accuracy.
