
Senior Oracle DBA, System Administrator – Oracle E Business Suite R12, Exadata

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Manage and provide support for Oracle E-Business Suite R12 databases and associated components on Oracle Exadata infrastructure.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and other components essential for EBS R12.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring through Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Design, document, and implement effective backup and restore strategies (RMAN, Data Guard when applicable), along with regular validation of recovery processes via restore tests.
• Develop, document, and carry out cloning processes for Dev/Test/QA/DR environments (Rapid Clone, AD utilities, RMAN-based clones).
• Tune Concurrent Manager, optimize parallel execution settings, allocate resources, and schedule tasks within the EBS environment.
• Conduct performance monitoring activities.
• Perform root cause analysis and apply preventative measures.
• Create runbooks and standard operating procedures, and provide training and mentorship to other DBAs and system administrators.
• Engage in an on-call rotation for after-hours support as necessary.
• Travel to data centers or various company locations for deployments, disaster recovery testing, or hardware upgrades as required.
• Lead architectural and design evaluations for new EBS/Exadata initiatives, upgrades, or migrations.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams during audits (PCI, SOX).
• Assess new features of Exadata Oracle releases and third-party tools.
• Develop and sustain capacity-planning models, cost analyses, and lifecycle roadmaps for database infrastructure.
• At least 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA & System Administrator supporting Oracle E-Business Suite R12.
• Demonstrated expertise with Oracle Exadata hardware (installation, configuration, tuning, patching, and troubleshooting).
• Strong proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and administration tasks.
• Solid experience in RMAN backups, recovery strategies, and disaster recovery concepts; familiarity with Data Guard is advantageous.
• Experience in designing and executing cloning procedures for EBS environments (Rapid Clone, AD utilities, RMAN, hot/cold clones).
• Proficient in configuring and tuning databases and application tiers for parallel concurrent processing and optimizing Concurrent Manager.
• Experience in implementing and supporting model routing in EBS and configuring additional application servers for routing and workload distribution.
• In-depth knowledge of ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle RAC, Linux for Oracle, and related storage/networking concepts pertaining to Exadata.
• Skilled in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting (bash); experience with automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.) and CI/CD is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at creating technical documentation and facilitating knowledge transfer.
• Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP/OCE) are preferred.
• Must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation and travel to data centers or other locations as necessary.
• Practical experience with automation/orchestration tools beyond basic scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud or hybrid Exadata-Cloud architectures (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure).
• Proficient in a general-purpose scripting language (Python, Perl) for complex automation tasks.
• Understanding of database security standards and best practices (encryption-at-rest, key management).
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Oracle Exadata Database Machine Administrator or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications are preferred.
