This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.
• Administer and manage Linux operating systems in both production and non-production settings.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to the operating system, applications, performance, storage, networking, and services.
• Conduct installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, security updates, and lifecycle management of Linux OS.
• Set up and maintain system services, packages, repositories, users, permissions, and access controls.
• Oversee backup and recovery processes, validate backups, and assist with system recovery efforts.
• Create Bash and Python scripts for automation and operational tasks.
• Analyze system logs, determine root causes, and troubleshoot infrastructure incidents.
• Implement Linux security best practices, system hardening procedures, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Manage KVM and VMware ESXi virtualization environments.
• Provision and configure virtual machines, including CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
• Resolve issues related to hypervisors, virtual machines, storage, networking, and performance.
• Carry out hypervisor installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor the availability, health, capacity, and resource utilization of virtualization systems.
• Support the migration, recovery, and maintenance of virtual machines and hypervisors.
• Administer physical server infrastructure from Dell and HPE.
• Install, configure, provision, decommission, and troubleshoot physical servers.
• Manage firmware, BIOS, drivers, hardware patching, remote management interfaces, and component replacements.
• Execute rack-level tasks, including server installation, cabling, power connectivity, and hardware replacements.
• Collaborate with PDUs to manage, monitor, and plan data center power consumption.
• Coordinate with data center teams, vendors, and service providers for installations, maintenance, infrastructure modifications, and hardware support.
• Provide operational support, perform root cause analysis, implement preventative measures, respond to production incidents, and restore services.
• Collaborate with networking, storage, security, application, infrastructure, and data center teams.
• Support security audits and ensure that privileged access and administrative permissions comply with security standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, infrastructure records, and troubleshooting guides.
• Proficient in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Linux patch and package management.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery operations.
• Proficient in Bash and Python scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of Linux security and system hardening.
• Experience managing KVM and VMware ESXi virtualization environments.
• Skills in virtual machine provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with physical server administration.
• Familiarity with Dell and HPE enterprise servers.
• Skills in hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Experience working in data center settings.
• Preferred knowledge of configuration management and automation tools, such as Ansible.
• Preferred knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems.
• Preferred knowledge of centralized logging and log analysis.
• Preferred knowledge of enterprise backup solutions.
• Preferred knowledge of SAN/NAS and enterprise storage concepts.
• Preferred knowledge of Linux networking and firewall configuration.
• Preferred knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLAN, and network troubleshooting.
• Preferred knowledge of VMware vCenter.
• Preferred knowledge of high-availability and clustering principles.
• Preferred knowledge of IT-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
