This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the senior administrator for enterprise application databases and associated platform services.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of databases.
• Design, create, configure, and maintain intricate databases in client/server and other necessary environments.
• Support systems design and database programming efforts.
• Configure JCL and access methods; enhance access times and device allocation.
• Implement validation controls, data organization, and statistical methodologies.
• Enforce data protection, security, and documentation standards.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and provide insights on technical requirements, staffing, and cost evaluations.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and functional stakeholders to plan and project long-term database needs.
• Establish and manage backup schedules; perform backups/restores and verify recovery capabilities.
• Deliver data management support, including data cleansing, database modeling assistance, and upholding data integrity processes.
• Create and sustain database/data governance documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, dictionaries, schema documentation, file design/storage, and integration design.
• Address reporting and analytics requirements, execute queries, generate reports, and assist with SQL Server Reporting Services configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ensure platform connectivity and application availability, focusing on load balancing, tuning, optimization, and fault tolerance.
• Provide both local and remote maintenance support for systems deployed in various locations.
• Assist other system administrators as needed.
• Carry out database Continuity of Operations and Disaster Recovery duties, including planning, documentation, drills, and related continuity initiatives.
• Aid in daily troubleshooting, system setup, error resolution, and configuration for SQL Server and SQL Clusters.
• Conduct capacity planning and system health monitoring utilizing Idera and SolarWinds.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government PUBLIC TRUST / SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship, a clear criminal history check, and no recent or pending bankruptcies are required for basic federal clearance criteria.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of experience with in-depth technical knowledge in the database domain.
• More than 8 years of experience involving client negotiations and interactions with senior management.
• At least eight (8) years of satisfactory experience overseeing Oracle and SQL Database Administrators for federal or commercial clients.
• Proven ability to create and manage standalone SQL and Oracle databases.
• Capability to identify and resolve issues, perform server maintenance, execute software installations and updates, maintain High Availability (HA) systems, and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in Oracle, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, MariaDB, and MS Access.
