Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, operate, maintain, and deliver Tier 3 support for enabling services related to CM/ECF and PACER.

• Provide comprehensive operational lifecycle support for Informix, MySQL, and other database systems, encompassing administration, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and security.

• Conduct routine updates, monitoring, deployment activities, error diagnostics and corrections, data extraction, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.

• Install, configure, secure, maintain, deploy, and support databases on enterprise systems.

• Create templates and implement standard configurations for databases.

• Configure, maintain, and support Enterprise Replication services.

• Monitor database health to identify and address potential issues and downtime.

• Execute changes across environments in accordance with approved change management processes, including after-hours production updates.

• Engage in database schema design and implementation.

• Plan and execute data migration strategies.

• Write SQL queries to extract data for program and stakeholder requests.

• Ensure regular database backups and conduct annual recovery tests.

• Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects, Security teams, and application teams.

• Ensure that database environments adhere to security, privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

• MA/MS degree with 5+ years or BS/BA degree with 7+ years of general experience in IT systems.

• Strong experience in administering cloud database platforms, notably Informix and MySQL.

• Expertise in SQL, performance tuning, workload management, and database optimization.

• Experience in operating databases within AWS or hybrid cloud environments.

• Proven capability to automate database administration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting.

• Familiarity with federal security, compliance, and audit requirements.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively with technical and business teams.

• Effective communication and documentation skills.

• Knowledge of contemporary monitoring/observability tools and CI/CD workflows.

• Experience in applying industry best practices and emerging data platform technologies.

• Consultant mindset with the ability to engage with stakeholders to define and enhance database operations.

• IBM Database Certification is mandatory.

• US Citizenship is not a requirement.
