Database Administrator Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Acquire knowledge of existing systems, architectures, integrations, and technologies and their interactions within the data services framework.

• Support both non-production and production database environments, as well as data integration solutions and data warehouse settings.

• Design and sustain both logical and physical databases.

• Execute mirroring, SQL reporting, backups, restores, and failover procedures.

• Perform tuning and optimization for enhanced performance.

• Create and manage stored procedures and triggers.

• Engage in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling activities.

• Collaborate closely with developers to provide data services for both existing and new applications.

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for handling large volumes of data.

• Take part in defining, analyzing, and designing data-related solution requirements.

• Generate complex reports utilizing SQL Server Reporting and Analysis Services.

• Contribute to business process enhancement initiatives.

• Present and communicate models to both IT and business unit teams.

• Enhance personal knowledge through ongoing education and training.

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.

• Knowledge of Data Architecture principles and standards.

• Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts and standards.

• Proficiency in SQL.

• Strong analytical abilities.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
