Senior Operations Analyst, Student Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute processing across Student Finance operations to ensure seamless functioning and assist with priority tasks.

• Act as a cross-disciplinary subject matter expert in the areas of Student Financial Aid, Billing, and Payment systems.

• Carry out and verify intricate financial transactions, maintaining data accuracy across various systems.

• Provide support for escalations and exception handling that necessitate extensive system expertise.

• Lead initiatives to enhance Student Financial systems and their associated workflows.

• Design and deploy automation solutions utilizing Power Automate, Power Query, reporting tools, and other automation and AI technologies.

• Collaborate with IT to outline system requirements and improvements.

• Enhance audit, reconciliation, and compliance practices.

• Minimize manual tasks through automation and process reengineering.

• Spot opportunities for operational enhancements driven by AI.

• Analyze data across systems to uncover trends and potential risks.

• Create KPI dashboards, operational scorecards, and frameworks for performance monitoring.

• Assist in capacity planning, workload forecasting, and assessments of scalability.

• Establish frameworks for data validation and monitoring.

• Map and redesign workflows while maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.

• Utilize design thinking, systems thinking, and data-driven methodologies to uncover root causes and sustainable solutions.

• Conduct process experiments, pilot programs, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Aid in project planning, requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, implementation, and post-launch evaluation.

• Assess emerging technologies and industry best practices.

• Drive quantifiable enhancements in performance metrics.

• Serve as a liaison among Student Finance, IT, and Operations teams.

• Assist with project execution and implementation.

• Participate in training and change management efforts.

• Lead workshops and discovery sessions to convert business requirements into digital capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• 4–6+ years of experience in student finance operations or process optimization.

• Familiarity with systems such as Banner, Salesforce, and ProSAM, or other Financial Aid Management systems.

• Knowledge of Federal Student Aid, third-party billing, and VA web-based applications.

• Maintain access to federal systems, which necessitates no defaulted federal student loans.

• Strong technical skills in Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, and Power BI, or comparable technologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.

• Proven ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technologies, systems, and tools in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
