Senior Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture and design of robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant Node.js applications, microservices, Big Data processing systems, and data pipelines within a cloud framework.

• Leverage AWS services like EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, Kafka/MSK, and SQS to guarantee high availability, security, and optimal performance.

• Develop and maintain distributed, high-load microservices and event-driven architectures that manage substantial volumes of concurrent traffic and data.

• Create and implement integrations and Big Data processing pipelines that ingest, transform, and disseminate large data volumes across both operational and analytical systems.

• Enhance Node.js applications and data processing tasks for minimal latency and maximum throughput.

• Apply advanced multithreading methods to improve system performance and concurrency.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code in line with industry best practices and design patterns.

• Integrate with various external APIs, handle large data volumes, and adapt it flexibly for both operational and analytical needs.

• Mentor junior developers while working independently in a cooperative, fast-paced environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Backend Developer role.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in developing APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with modern data platforms and storage solutions such as Snowflake, ClickHouse, or similar alternatives.

• Experience with event streaming and queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or comparable technologies.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, along with knowledge of Node.js and its frameworks (such as Express or equivalent).

• Comprehension of asynchronous programming and its intricacies and solutions.

• Understanding of the foundational design principles that underpin scalable applications.

• Experience in designing and executing data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows.

• Capability in implementing automated testing modules and unit tests.

• Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git.

• Familiarity with cloud services including AWS and GCP.

• Experience working in a Linux environment.

• Knowledge of CI/CD processes.
