Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Commission greenfield office networks throughout India, which includes the build-out of MDF/IDF to meet corporate standards.

• Deploy and configure Aruba wireless and switching infrastructure.

• Implement and validate SilverPeak/Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN solutions at Indian sites, ensuring connectivity to AWS US-East.

• Manage coordination with Indian ISPs, addressing last-mile challenges, ensuring regulatory compliance, and liaising with vendors and contractors.

• Uphold both physical and logical standards for IDF/MDF across various locations in India.

• Execute and validate Zscaler ZIA and ZDX deployments for users in India.

• Set up and establish baseline monitoring for Zscaler ZDX synthetic services at offices in India.

• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Infoblox DDI integrity.

• Onboard locations in India into Kentik for observability and synthetic monitoring.

• Act as a Tier 3 escalation contact for India NOC personnel during business hours in India.

• Resolve firewall policy, WAF, and Zscaler ZIA issues that go beyond NOC runbooks.

• Document solutions and incorporate fixes into NOC runbooks and A&E standards.

• Utilize Terraform and Git for managing network provisioning and configuration.

• Contribute Python automation for operational tasks, validation, and telemetry purposes.

• Engage in CI/CD workflows utilizing GitHub, CodeCommit, and CodePipeline.

• Collaborate with A&E architects based in the US to convert designs into deployments in India.

• Provide feedback on deployments to enhance corporate network standards.

• Travel to office locations in India for site assessments, buildouts, and audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead role.

• Proficient understanding of Aruba wireless and switching systems, particularly Aruba Central, APs, and CX/AOS-S switching.

• Practical experience with SD-WAN solutions; preference for SilverPeak/Aruba EdgeConnect, though Cisco Viptela, Versa, or VeloCloud will be considered.

• Experience with Zscaler ZIA and ZDX in a production environment, with a focus on deployment, policy management, and troubleshooting, is strongly preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLAN architecture, and QoS.

• Experience in commissioning office networks, which entails MDF/IDF build-out, structured cabling coordination, and ISP setup.

• Capability to work independently across different time zones with minimal daily oversight.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Willingness to travel to office locations in India as necessary.

• Candidates must possess work authorization in India that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Preferred qualifications include CCNP Enterprise, ACMP, Zscaler Certified Associate/Professional, or similar certifications.

• Preferred knowledge of Kentik, AWS networking, deployment in India, Palo Alto firewalls, AWS WAF, Infoblox DDI, Python, Terraform, Git, and Jira.
