Private Wireless Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Develop designs, proposals, and documentation for Private Wireless Network (PWN) projects to support the CTS Sales and Sales Engineering teams.

• Utilize iBwave, Ranplan, and Eino prediction tools to create RF designs for PWN.

• Assess and validate RF designs produced by both internal design teams and external partners.

• Plan and determine the sizing of Core (EPC/5GC) components and LAN infrastructure for PWN installations.

• Design Core and LAN infrastructure layouts and IP planning diagrams using Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Produce precise Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on RF designs, Core/LAN planning, software licenses, engineering services, and customer specifications.

• Develop construction-ready proposals utilizing the CTS quote book template and PowerPoint presentations.

• Create comprehensive scopes of work detailing materials, equipment, and services involved.

• Oversee and manage both internal and external customer expectations concerning delivery timelines and communications.

• Engage in customer meetings, exploratory site tours, and scope discovery sessions.

• Make well-informed design choices while fostering positive relationships with client personnel.

• Serve as a positive representative of CTS.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• A high school diploma along with 2+ years of relevant work experience will also be taken into account.

• Fundamental understanding of RF wave propagation theory and the MNO (AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile) owned spectrum bands in the United States.

• Familiarity with the CBRS frequency band, the three tiers of spectrum access, and the function of a Spectrum Access System (SAS) is preferred.

• Basic comprehension of 4G/5G systems.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP layers and protocols) and general LAN/WAN infrastructure.

• Knowledge of GPON and SD-WAN infrastructure is advantageous.

• Eagerness to learn about PWN RAN equipment manufacturers and their deployment architectures.

• Awareness of core (EPC/5GC) deployment options and best practices.

• Basic understanding of public cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

• Capability to perform ISP backhaul requirement calculations and plan, scale, and size core supporting infrastructure.

• Competence in organizing and executing take-offs of designs embedded in floor plan prints or CDs.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external design teams.

• Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and conduct national site visits, up to 25% of the time.

• Attend both in-person and virtual training sessions as necessary.

• Openness and ability to learn new technical concepts and acquire new skills.

• High energy level, attention to detail, punctuality, teamwork, positive demeanor, adaptability, self-motivation, and reliability.

• Capability to work at a PC for extended periods.

• Willingness to travel by flight or drive for site visits.

• Ability to walk for 4 or more hours during extended site visits in various indoor and outdoor environments.

• Physically able to attend PWN and Regional team meetings when required.
