Network Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and execute wireless, telephone, data, telecommunications, and information technology programs and networks for the state.

• Deliver data and/or voice network services; establish and uphold networks and systems.

• Conduct preventive maintenance, assess system performance, respond to malfunctions, and troubleshoot operational issues.

• Install, test, and adjust data, voice, and wireless networks, routers, and communication components.

• Coordinate and execute system tests; modify, calibrate, and adjust equipment or components as necessary.

• Collaborate with agency users, other agencies, political subdivisions, technical staff, contractors, and vendors to assess service needs.

• Oversee and manage the public safety network while ensuring compliance with State and Federal security requirements.

• Investigate network technologies and propose technical solutions.

• Monitor network performance continuously.

• Train IT staff to enhance support capabilities for IT services.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field along with a minimum of four (4) years of Network Operations experience, or over 10 years of experience in Networking Infrastructure administration and support.

• Proficiency and expertise in HPE Juniper are preferred.

• Must be a self-starter, motivated, and detail-oriented individual.

• Training in Server and Security is advantageous.

• Primary residence should be within a 45-minute commute to downtown Dallas, Texas.

• Capability to bend, crouch, stoop, sit, and/or lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

• Ability to operate manual equipment, such as dollies and carts.

• Availability for some extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.

• Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
