Senior Network Engineer, Zscaler Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, configure, manage, and provide support for Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) environments.

• Oversee Zscaler policies, forwarding profiles, authentication methods, SSL inspection, URL filtering, firewall rules, and data protection measures.

• Set up and maintain App Connectors, Service Edges, Client Connectors, Browser Access, Segment Groups, and Access Policies.

• Deploy and manage Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions across global enterprise networks.

• Diagnose connectivity, authentication, and application access issues related to ZIA and ZPA.

• Handle integrations with Azure AD / Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, and Active Directory.

• Conduct application onboarding and migrate from traditional VPN solutions to ZPA.

• Configure Cloud Firewall, Sandbox, DLP, CASB, and Advanced Threat Protection features within Zscaler.

• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and architecture diagrams.

• Manage enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet Edge, and Data Center networks.

• Set up and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches, Aruba wireless controllers, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies.

• Design robust and highly available network architectures.

• Assist in network expansion, refresh initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Act as L2/L3 escalation point for critical network and Zscaler incidents.

• Conduct root cause analysis and deliver permanent solutions.

• Troubleshoot VPN connectivity, DNS issues, authentication failures, application access problems, routing and switching challenges, and SSL inspection concerns.

• Engage in on-call support and major incident management activities.

• Monitor network availability and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.

• Produce operational reports related to network health, capacity planning, security events, and Zscaler service usage.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Network Engineering.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.

• Experience in supporting global enterprise environments with over 1,000 users.

• Demonstrated experience in network transformation and VPN-to-ZTNA migrations.

• Familiarity with ITIL-based support frameworks.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.

• Expert-level hands-on experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX), Zscaler Client Connector, Cloud Firewall, Advanced Threat Protection, Cloud Sandbox, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and CASB.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS, and Wireless Networking.

• Proficiency in firewall configuration and management, Zero Trust Architecture, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), proxy technologies, Identity & Access Management, SSL/TLS technologies, and Network Access Control (NAC).

• Understanding of Microsoft Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud connectivity, ExpressRoute, site-to-site VPN, and SD-WAN integration with Zscaler.

• Possession of one or more certifications from recognized entities, including Zscaler, Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
