Senior Network Engineer – Corporate Enterprise Network, WAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver essential network engineering services for IOEE and IOSEE systems and associated equipment.

• Oversee ongoing operations, scheduled upgrades, the integration of new technologies, and strategic development of capabilities.

• Formulate product requirements from start to finish under general oversight.

• Create specifications for straightforward to moderately complex issues.

• Assess and reduce risks for network STIG compliance.

• Set up and deploy devices in accordance with DLA IOEE and IOSEE standards.

• Manage the DLA IPv4 and IPv6 address space.

• Execute hardware/software technology refreshes and upgrades.

• Conduct site surveys to ascertain space and base infrastructure needs.

• Carry out installation and design planning.

• Assist with last-half-mile circuit connections to IOEE points of presence.

• Order and monitor circuits through DISA Storefront.

• Offer classified network support, which includes Type-1 encryptors, GEM-X, and re-keying procedures.

• Collaborate with Services and coalition networks.

• Provide Tier III troubleshooting and 24x7x365 on-call assistance.

• Build network monitoring capabilities for real-time situational awareness.

• Conduct network engineering planning and analysis.

• Carry out testing and implementation planning and analysis.

• Deliver technical support engineering for interoperability, service definitions, network service design and installation, equipment testing and validation, video teleconferencing, imaging, training, staging, and installation.

• Monitor DLA DISN sub-network assets throughout their lifecycle.

• Coordinate with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to guarantee accurate solutions and user satisfaction.

• Travel approximately three times a year.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience.

• Involvement in at least two projects related to the technical areas covered in this role.

• At least one project must have been completed within the last three (3) years.

• Must hold a High Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation at the time of proposal.

• Top Secret security clearance is required.

• DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III.

• Possession of CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E) certification is necessary.

• Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification is required.

• Preferred qualifications include: AWS Cloud Practitioner.

• Preferred qualifications include: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.

• Preferred qualifications include: CompTIA Cloud+.

• Willingness to travel around three times a year is necessary.

• Ability to deploy to any DLA site for installation or troubleshooting tasks is required.

• Must reside within 50 miles of a DLA location.
