Network Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 2 technical support for enterprise and data center network infrastructure.

• Identify and resolve network incidents, connectivity problems, and service requests.

• Address issues related to routing, switching, firewalls, and network performance.

• Oversee network infrastructure and react to alerts and service-impacting incidents.

• Execute approved network configurations, modifications, upgrades, and hardware replacements.

• Carry out structured troubleshooting and escalate intricate or unresolved matters to Level 3 engineering teams.

• Assist in incident, problem, and change management processes.

• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional infrastructure teams to address network issues.

• Ensure precise network documentation, configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures are maintained.

• Engage in network maintenance, service restoration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure all activities comply with established security, operational, and change management standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited college or university and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of routing, switching, server operating systems, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines, and software applications.

• Acquainted with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.

• Understanding of server hardware technologies in relation to content delivery performance and capacity.

• Capability to foster productive internal and external working relationships.

• Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and practices.

• Competence in performing office-related tasks, including prolonged sitting or standing.

• Capacity to navigate within an office environment.

• Proficiency in using a computer.

• Effective communication skills.
