Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of reliability throughout the entire request delivery path, which includes edge network equipment, DNS, load balancing, and service mesh spanning across data centers, AWS, and GCP.

• Propel network automation through config-as-code using Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps, alongside CI validation, IPAM, and thoroughly reviewed, repeatable, and reversible changes.

• Identify and eliminate any single points of failure while designing and conducting failover drills.

• Engineer client connectivity through circuits, VPNs, cross-connects, and FIX network pathways.

• Develop workflows and dashboards to enhance client connectivity.

• Establish network observability utilizing streaming device telemetry, syslog, and comprehensive alerting mechanisms.

• Strengthen the network fleet through effective firmware management, centralized AAA, control-plane protection, and firewall policy as code.

• Engage in an on-call rotation that is contained to minimize interruptions.

• Collaborate with seasoned network engineers on SRE initiatives, including trading-edge migration and configuration-as-code implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven years managing production networks that encompass physical equipment such as routing and switching, BGP, firewalls, circuits, and cross-connects.

• Proficient knowledge of cloud networking in AWS or GCP, including VPC design, transit gateways and peering, network load balancers, DNS, and hybrid connectivity.

• Proven experience in automating network tasks, with configurations stored in Git and thorough change reviews.

• Working familiarity with L4–L7 load balancing technologies (HAProxy, NGINX, or Envoy), TLS termination, and health checking.

• Sufficient understanding of Kubernetes to confidently manage ingress.

• A focus on reliability, including conducting failover rehearsals.

• Strong writing skills and the ability to collaborate directly with clients’ network teams.
