Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop intricate network architectures for both new and existing client locations, including relocations, upgrades, expansions, and disaster recovery setups, with a focus on Cisco core networks.

• Collaborate in designing, constructing, and configuring global network environments.

• Document datacenter technologies and provide training to colleagues on their usage.

• Implement and uphold L2/L3 logical designs, spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling, VPN software, network control protocols, network management protocols, and security protocols.

• Deliver Tier 3 support for network and data communication challenges, including circuits, routing, VPN connectivity, WAN optimization, hardware, and third-party vendor connectivity.

• Investigate networking challenges and products, assess solutions, and apply effective resolutions.

• Prioritize urgent and sensitive tasks from clients and manage expectations to ensure satisfaction.

• Configure IPSec VPN tunnels, IP communication, and OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.

• Enhance efficiency through knowledge of equipment, production processes, and quality control.

• Engage in both BAU and project work and complete timesheets for client billing purposes.

• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every 10 weeks and manage escalations from other business units.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 7–10 years of relevant IT experience within a Cisco environment.

• Over 5 years of network engineering experience.

• CCNP certification or equivalent.

• Experience in Network Design Architect roles.

• Advanced skills in routing and switching.

• Willingness to travel to client offices and data centers as necessary.

• Required experience with Palo Alto; familiarity with Fortigate and ASA is a plus.

• Preferred background in the financial services industry and managed service providers (MSP).

• Strong grasp of routing, WAN/LAN, and transport technologies, including Ethernet, SD-WAN, VPN, DMVPN, and MPLS.

• Exceptional desktop and server troubleshooting capabilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.

• Practical experience with SolarWinds Orion and Kiwi; Syslog experience is advantageous.
