Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SolarWinds network monitoring systems and modules.

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for custom and ad-hoc reports.

• Design, create, and maintain SolarWinds dashboards that display performance metrics, alerts, and system status.

• Diagnose and resolve performance issues within SolarWinds.

• Analyze monitoring data to uncover trends and suggest enhancements.

• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate monitoring and reporting requirements.

• Provide reliable monitoring, actionable insights, and operational solutions.

• Document system configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and reporting protocols.

• Offer subject matter expertise and guidance on SolarWinds best practices and functionalities.

• Support system upgrades, patches, and integrations.

• Mentor and train junior team members.

• Partner with IT and business teams to ensure monitoring environments align with operational needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with SolarWinds products, including NPM, NCM, and SAM.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries and reports.

• Experience in installing, upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting SolarWinds environments.

• Experience in designing and maintaining SolarWinds dashboards.

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and monitoring principles.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Relevant certifications in SolarWinds or network administration are preferred.

• Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks is preferred.

• Familiarity with Thousand Eyes, LiveAction, LiveNx, LiveWire, Viavi, Splunk, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, shell scripting, Python, AI, Linux, Github, ADO, or CICD would be advantageous.
