This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Lead and assist multidisciplinary teams in the preparation and delivery of scoping studies, preliminary economic assessments, pre-feasibility studies, and feasibility studies.
β’ Oversee the comprehensive scope of technical studies.
β’ Ensure completion of work safely, on time, and within the allocated budget.
β’ Integrate technical, permitting, and financial analyses to enhance project value.
β’ Navigate complex studies through clientsβ stage-gate processes.
β’ Develop and implement study management methodologies.
β’ Act as Qualified Person or Competent Person on pertinent sections of studies under NI 43-101, SEC S-K 1300, and JORC.
β’ Coordinate project site evaluations as necessary.
β’ Manage project scope, schedule, budget, change management, meetings, scheduling, budget estimation, and workload assessment.
β’ Engage in business development activities to identify and pursue opportunities in mining studies.
β’ Provide training and mentorship to team members.
β’ Organize domestic or international fieldwork and travel as required.
β’ Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, metallurgy, geology, or a related discipline within the minerals industry.
β’ At least 10 years of pertinent study experience.
β’ Strong comprehension of technical reporting standards (S-K 1300, NI 43-101, and JORC).
β’ In-depth understanding of study project execution, including PEA, PFS, and FS.
β’ Proven leadership abilities in project management and/or project development.
β’ Demonstrated skills in project organization and management.
β’ Experience in cost and financial modeling, as well as CAPEX/OPEX estimation.
β’ Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.), Registered Member (SME or MMSA), or similar credentials to support the role of Qualified Person (QP) or Competent Person (CP).
β’ Proficiency in Excel and MS Project or a comparable scheduling application.
β’ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
β’ Familiarity with CAD drawing reviews, such as Adobe or Bluebeam.
β’ Understanding of mine planning and modeling software packages.
β’ Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
β’ Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship from Barr Ltd., either now or in the future.
β’ Capability to work in rugged terrain, exploration sites, construction environments, and mineral industry facilities.
β’ Experience in mining and/or mineral processing operations is preferred.
β’ Relevant experience with EPC/EPCM, mining construction, or successful completion of studies is preferred.
β’ Business development experience is preferred.
