This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Establish new merchant services partnerships by collaborating with branches, Commercial Banking Centers, Treasury Management, Business Banking, Business Client Management, and Commercial Banking teams.
β’ Follow up on referrals, assess client needs, present merchant services solutions, and transition opportunities into active merchant accounts.
β’ Consult on intricate merchant opportunities and ensure proper merchant onboarding and account setup.
β’ Cultivate and maintain relationships with merchants and internal business partners to enhance growth and client retention.
β’ Offer sales and technical assistance by clarifying products, addressing inquiries, and acting as a resource for merchant services questions.
β’ Prepare pricing comparisons and suggest pricing strategies for both prospective and existing merchant relationships.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve merchant services issues, including escalated and complex client challenges.
β’ Evaluate merchant risk levels and collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate approval solutions for higher-risk relationships.
β’ Stay knowledgeable of merchant services regulations, policies, procedures, and PCI Compliance requirements.
β’ Provide guidance, training, and knowledge sharing to team members and business partners regarding merchant services products, processes, and best practices.
β’ Ensure adherence to relevant policies, security mandates, and government regulations.
β’ Foster growth through strategic business development and trusted financial guidance.
β’ Mentor colleagues and contribute to a high-performing team.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Required).
β’ Over 4 years of specialized B2B sales, account management, merchant services, or treasury management experience (Required).
β’ A combination of education and experience may be considered in place of a degree.
β’ Advanced understanding of merchant services, financial services, consumer credit cards, or commercial credit card products.
β’ Proven record of consultative sales, business development, and relationship management success.
β’ Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with clients, business partners, and team members.
β’ Experience in prospecting, generating new business opportunities, and progressing sales discussions through phone and email outreach.
β’ Strong organizational, time management, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
β’ Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to merchant services and payment processing.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 5%.
