Senior Medical Science Liaison – West

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and sustain impactful territory strategies, which include engagement plans for HCPs and Investigators.

• Assist in clinical development and research efforts, encompassing site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials.

• Identify, establish access to, and cultivate customer-focused relationships with external Immuno-Oncology specialists within the designated region.

• Educate stakeholders on disease states, therapeutic landscapes, and Summit Therapeutics products throughout their lifecycle.

• Participate in and observe relevant scientific meetings, providing valuable insights to Summit.

• Stay informed on market trends, product knowledge, and emerging therapeutic areas through self-education.

• Foster awareness and build relationships for Summit Therapeutics within the medical community.

• Engage in relevant team meetings, organizational activities, and country-led medical affairs initiatives such as advisory boards, Masterclasses, and roundtables.

• Develop cross-functional partnerships and implement account strategies that support shared scientific or business goals.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctoral degree in health sciences from an accredited institution is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent), although substantial clinical and/or industry experience in oncology and cancer therapeutic areas may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in solid tumor cancers, ideally in GI, bladder, or renal cell tumors.

• At least 5 years of experience in clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related roles or equivalent experience is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison is required.

• Previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry in a relevant scientific field is preferred.

• Ability to understand, analyze, and effectively communicate complex scientific concepts and data.

• Proven ability to build credible relationships with key HCPs.

• Capability to independently identify and translate corporate needs into actionable plans.

• Self-motivated to meet and exceed targets.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Excellent critical thinking skills.

• Ability to work autonomously.

• Must fulfill healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screenings, and proof of immunization/vaccination.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time is required.

• Proficient in using the standard MS Office suite; experience with electronic document management systems and document review tools is desirable.
