Senior Medical Science Liaison, Texas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and uphold impactful territory strategies, including engagement plans for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and investigators that align with the medical and scientific goals of the therapeutic area.

• Assist in clinical development and research projects, which encompasses site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials.

• Identify, connect, and cultivate relationships with external Immuno-Oncology experts within the designated territory.

• Educate healthcare providers and researchers regarding the disease state, therapeutic landscape, and Summit Therapeutics products throughout the product lifecycle.

• Attend and monitor pertinent scientific meetings, providing valuable insights to Summit.

• Stay informed on market trends, product knowledge, and emerging therapeutic areas through self-education.

• Foster awareness and establish connections for Summit Therapeutics within the medical community.

• Engage in relevant team meetings, organizational activities, and country-specific medical affairs initiatives such as advisory boards, Masterclasses, and roundtables.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and execute account plans that support shared scientific or business goals.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctoral degree in health sciences from an accredited institution is mandatory (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent), although substantial clinical or industry experience in oncology and the cancer therapeutic area may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in solid tumor cancers, preferably focusing on gastrointestinal, bladder, or renal cell tumors.

• At least 2+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison is required.

• Preferred: 5+ years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or an equivalent background.

• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a relevant scientific discipline is advantageous.

• Capability to comprehend, analyze, and convey complex scientific concepts and data.

• Proven ability to establish credible relationships with leading healthcare professionals.

• Competence to independently recognize and transform corporate needs into actionable plans.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Critical thinking skills are essential.

• Ability to work autonomously.

• Must fulfill healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing criteria, which may include background checks, drug tests, and proof of immunization/vaccination.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

• Proficient in the standard MS Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.

• Experience with electronic document management systems and document review tools is desirable.

• Strong computer skills and database management capabilities.
