This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.
• Develop, implement, and sustain impactful territory strategies, encompassing HCP and Investigator engagement plans.
• Assist in clinical development and research endeavors, which include site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials.
• Identify, access, and cultivate customer-focused relationships with external Immuno-Oncology specialists.
• Provide education to healthcare providers and researchers regarding disease states, therapeutic landscapes, and Summit Therapeutics products.
• Participate in and evaluate pertinent scientific meetings, offering insights to Summit.
• Maintain ongoing self-education regarding market issues, trends, product knowledge, and emerging therapeutic areas.
• Foster awareness and build relationships for Summit Therapeutics within the medical community.
• Engage in relevant team meetings, organizational activities, and country-specific medical affairs initiatives, including advisory boards, Masterclasses, and roundtables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to formulate and implement account strategies that support shared scientific or business goals.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A doctoral degree in health sciences from an accredited institution is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent); however, substantial clinical and/or industry experience in oncology and the cancer therapeutic area may be accepted as a substitute for educational requirements.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience with solid tumor cancers, preferably in gastrointestinal, bladder, or renal cell tumors.
• At least 2+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison is required.
• Healthcare industry representative credentialing criteria, which may involve background checks, drug screenings, and proof of immunization/vaccination.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Proficiency in the standard MS Office suite; experience with electronic document management systems and document review tools is advantageous.
• Strong computer and database skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Clear and effective oral and written communication abilities.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Capability to multitask and handle time-sensitive and highly confidential documents.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment.
• Preferred clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience of 5+ years.
• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a relevant scientific discipline is preferred.
• Proven ability to comprehend, analyze, and communicate complex scientific concepts and data.
• Demonstrated capability to establish credible relationships with key healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in independently identifying and converting corporate needs into actionable plans.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
