Senior Medical Science Liaison, Great Lakes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and sustain impactful territory strategies, incorporating HCP and Investigator engagement initiatives that align with therapeutic-area medical and scientific goals.

• Assist in clinical development and research projects, which include site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials.

• Identify, establish access to, and cultivate customer-focused relationships with external Immuno-Oncology specialists within the designated area.

• Educate healthcare professionals and researchers on the disease state, therapeutic landscape, and Summit Therapeutics products throughout the product lifecycle.

• Engage in and monitor relevant scientific conferences, providing insights back to Summit.

• Stay informed on market trends, product knowledge, and emerging therapeutic areas through self-education.

• Foster awareness and relationships for Summit Therapeutics within the medical community.

• Participate in team meetings, organizational activities, and country-driven medical affairs initiatives such as advisory boards, Masterclasses, and roundtables.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement account plans that support shared scientific or business objectives.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctoral degree in health sciences from an accredited institution is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent), although substantial clinical and/or industry experience in oncology and cancer therapeutics may be accepted in place of educational qualifications.

• At least 5+ years of experience with solid tumor cancers, preferably in gastrointestinal, bladder, or renal cell tumors.

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison is required.

• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a relevant scientific field is preferred.

• Proficient in understanding, analyzing, and conveying complex scientific concepts and data.

• Proven ability to build credible relationships with key healthcare professionals.

• Capability to independently identify corporate needs and translate them into actionable plans.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently.

• Must fulfill healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screenings, and proof of immunization/vaccination.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time is required.

• Proficient in using the standard MS Office suite; experience with electronic document management systems and review tools is desirable.

• Strong computer and database management skills.
