Senior Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Act as the scientific and clinical authority for a designated region.

• Present Artiva’s scientific and clinical findings to the medical community.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director, Medical Affairs Europe to implement the national field medical strategy.

• Assess, refine, and prioritize regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) while identifying new academic researchers, community clinicians, and advocacy stakeholders.

• Facilitate peer-to-peer scientific discussions concerning the therapeutic pipeline, mechanisms of action, and intricate clinical data.

• Assist in the planning and execution of medical advisory boards, symposia, and clinical training sessions for healthcare professionals (HCPs).

• Serve as a liaison among clinical investigators, internal stakeholders, and CRO personnel for sponsored research studies.

• Aid clinical trial sites with recruitment, protocol inquiries, feasibility assessments, and enrollment processes.

• Cultivate and manage partnerships with KOLs, investigators, study personnel, nurses, pharmacists, and office managers.

• Identify opportunities for medical education collaborations and potential clinical research initiatives.

• Function as a local medical and scientific resource for the medical community.

• Provide insights regarding sites, regional trends, protocol modifications, recruitment challenges, and patient identification.

• Complete accurate and timely administrative reports, projects, and necessary documentation.

• Transform clinical insights and competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations for Medical Strategy.

• Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams on pre-launch readiness and patient access strategies while maintaining medical independence.

• Represent Artiva at significant medical congresses and implement congress strategies.

• Organize pre-congress preparations and manage session coverage.

• Support data dissemination and maintain a medical booth/display presence.

• Collect, synthesize, and communicate competitive intelligence from congresses.

• Provide ongoing medical and scientific training to internal colleagues and mentor early-career Medical Science Liaisons.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.

• Preferred 6+ years of experience.

• Direct responsibility for clinical trial operations support.

• Direct responsibility for KOL mapping validation.

• Direct responsibility for KOL engagement and scientific exchanges with HCPs.

• Direct responsibility for advisory boards.

• Direct responsibility for medical insights and competitive intelligence.

• Formal training and practical experience in Immunology and/or Inflammation.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a highly external, travel-intensive role, occasionally on weekends.

• Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time.

• Strong understanding of Medical Affairs compliance and standards for scientific exchanges.

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with prominent physicians and researchers.

• Experience in early- to mid-stage biotech is preferred.

• Experience in supporting clinical-stage programs, pre-launch activities, or Investigator-Initiated Studies is preferred.

• Experience in rheumatology, immunology, and/or cell therapy is preferred.

• Must be located in the Eastern European country cluster: Romania, Bulgaria, or Hungary.

• A PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent scientific background is strongly preferred.
