This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems customized for data centers.

• Choose suitable air- and water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions.

• Perform internal and external computational fluid dynamics analyses to enhance airflow, pinpoint hotspots, evaluate component interactions, and suggest design adjustments.

• Prepare or oversee the preparation of CFD models and analyze the outcomes.

• Coordinate design modifications and their implications with other project trades.

• Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, incorporating backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems.

• Conduct heat load calculations and capacity planning based on IT equipment, power density, expected growth, and project phasing.

• Execute HVAC loads for administrative and common facility areas.

• Apply energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery systems, and airflow optimization.

• Design filtration systems and air-quality monitoring mechanisms to safeguard sensitive IT equipment.

• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate HVAC systems with electrical infrastructure, UPS, emergency power, fire suppression, and other essential systems.

• Engage hands-on and client-facing in prominent data center projects for global clients.

• Work collaboratively with teams worldwide on fast-paced data center projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Experience in the installation and operation of mechanical and electrical equipment in data centers.

• P.E. registration is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is typically required.

• A Master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management is preferred.

• Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002.

• Professional HVAC certifications such as CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation are advantageous.

• Eligibility to work in the United States.

• Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.
