Senior Data Center Mechanical Engineer – 3rd Party Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in third-party data center initiatives for CBRE clients, offering technical expertise and insights.

• Aid Senior Engineers by updating documentation during technical due diligence for both new and existing facilities.

• Evaluate and review third-party data center locations for technical compliance and alignment with standards.

• Identify collaborators and engage with them to develop strategies, plans, and prioritize goals and success metrics.

• Estimate task durations and synchronize schedules and dependencies with project objectives.

• Conduct reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analyses to enhance data center performance and efficiency.

• Review detailed design documentation for third-party data center sites to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Directly interact with clients to prepare various project components.

• Compile documentation for presentations and contracts in support of senior engineering personnel.

• Assist operations with day-to-day documentation inquiries.

• Facilitate the organization and enhancement of program standards.

• Identify opportunities for optimization within standard engineering programs for Technical Due Diligence.

• Coordinate mechanical design documentation for data center projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, accompanied by 8-10 years of substantial experience.

• A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Strong understanding of large-scale, intricate data center infrastructure.

• Knowledge of commercial real estate, including financial analysis, project management, construction, ethical practices, business operations, marketing, and business development.

• Experience collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, encompassing structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, electrical, and architectural fields.

• Experience with data center projects both domestically and internationally.

• Capability to resolve complex issues using both standard and innovative approaches.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, PowerPoint, and MS Projects.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a curious mindset.

• Preferred experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools.

• Licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is desirable.

• Expected travel requirement of 25%.
