Senior Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned projects from the initial concept phase through to the creation of bid documents and construction administration.

• Manage mechanical design across multiple projects, set priorities, and guide assigned designers.

• Serve as the Lead Engineer, directing mechanical design and reviewing the work of engineers and designers.

• Take responsibility for the technical quality of engineering tasks.

• Prepare project-specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.

• Assess and resolve issues utilizing technical engineering methods and practices.

• Engage in project design and coordination meetings.

• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure all information is integrated into project requirements.

• Act as the lead mechanical engineer in client meetings and maintain client relations.

• Conduct construction administration duties, including site visits, field reports, reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and evaluating mechanical change orders.

• Carry out and lead mechanical field surveys while documenting findings in field reports.

• Collaborate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of internal and external architects and engineers.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Professional Engineer License is preferred.

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in new construction, renovations, and/or expansions.

• Experience in healthcare facilities, military installations, government buildings, courthouses, research laboratories, central steam and chilled water plants, correctional facilities, and/or site utility infrastructure is highly regarded.

• Familiarity with building codes and material design standards.

• Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Trane Trace load calculation software.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and solution development skills.

• Capability to meet project deadlines and budget requirements while maintaining expected quality standards.

• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
